That's not an unusual place for the Isley Brothers to be - their first hit single, "Shout," was very much like a gospel chant adapted into a rock'n'roll or soul song. But more than that, this 1964 single, issued on the Isley Brothers' own T-Neck label, is tremendously exciting uptempo soul music, just one step removed from a gospel revival tent.
